RUSSIA

The Hunting Consortium Ltd. has arranged hunts in Russia since 1987.  We were among the pioneers of sport hunting in this vast  nation during the last years of the Soviet Union and the emergence of the Russian Federation.  Much of the exploration into new hunting areas and the establishment of sport hunting programs for the many game over a decade this firm arranged more hunts in Russia than any other company in the world.  Today our Russian staff is still the most experienced, practiced, and competent group of hunting travel professionals in Russia.

Our experienced staff in Russia provide a full range of services including assistance in immigration and customs clearance, transfers, accommodations, sight-seeing, escorted shopping, trophy preparation and many other services.

During the last 20 years, many new programs have been developed in farther reaches of Siberia, the Russian Far East, and along the borders of China and Mongolia.  In these more primitive areas, hunting is quite similar to that found in Canada and Alaska, with tented camps being the usual accommodations and helicopters and horses the normal modes of travel.  In these regions magnificent trophies of coastal brown bear, moose, snow sheep and numerous other species can be had.

Experience counts - discover Russia with the Russian experts!  Dependable, proven adventures.  We deliver quality!

Russia is so vast, virtually an entire continent,  that we must discuss it by region:

RUSSIAN CAUCASUS

For the devoted mountain hunter, the rugged Caucasus Mountains present a great challenge, some of the most breath-taking scenery in the world and several species of big game unique to the region are found there.  This region encompasses the tiny autonomous republics of Krasnodar, Karachayevo-Cherkessiya, Kabardino-Balkariya, Severnaya Osetiya, Ingushetya, Chechnya, and Dagestan, all within the Russian Federation.

Hunts in this wild and primitive region are true mountain hunting adventures.  Tented camps are the usual accommodations, horses the usual mode of travel.  Long hikes in rough terrain are often necessary, so hunters much be physically fit and able to shoot  well.  The most important species of the Caucasus is the Tur, a large ibex, of which there are three varieties.  The northern region of the Caucasus Mountains is famous for the excellent trophy quality of its red stags and wild boar, which are found in good numbers.  These mountains are also home to the Caucasian chamois.  The Tur hunt can be combined with a hunt for all of these species, as well as, with hunting for brown bear, and European bison, by special permit.

“From my considerable personal hunting experience, I recommend The Hunting Consortium in the highest terms, especially for Asia. I make this recommendation for many reasons, including safety. I have hunted with this firm on several occasions and found them to be honest, hardworking, and very reliable.”

Dr. Robert “Bob” Speegle

“Bob Kern and the staff at The Hunting Consortium are absolutely top notch! Their advice is always complete and up-to-the-minute. I especially appreciate their ability to compose and modify complex travel plans to suit my individual needs.  Bob has always made sure that I was in the right place, at the right time, to take the species I was after.”
