NAMIBIA

Namibia is a large country, somewhat larger than the state of Texas, Namibia is located on the southwest coast of Africa, bordered on the north by Angola , on the east by Botswana, and to the south by the Republic of South Africa.  Namibia is a country of compelling beauty, abundant sunshine, and a feeling of unconfined space, with a population density among the lowest in the world.  Most of the country is semi-desert, covered with savannah of camel thorn Acacia, interspersed with rocky mountains and grassland.  In the north,  along the Caprivi Strip, lush forests and swamps along the Kavango and Chobe rivers contrast sharply with the arid south.

Until WWI Namibia was a German protectorate and the German culture is still very evident  there today while German is still spoken by many ranchers, who are descendants of the original settlers.  The infrastructure in Namibia is excellent, among the best on the African continent, and the level of safari service is similar to that found in neighboring South Africa and on ranches in the USA.

Namibia has become famous for plains game hunting due to its  great variety of species, including  non indigenous species introduced strictly for hunting.  There are  hundreds of ranches and huge game conservancies, on which livestock have been removed and the land has been turned back to nature as well as  managed for hunting.  There are also tribal hunting concessions in Damaraland and in Kavango and recently big game hunting concessions have been opened in the Caprivi Strip.  These areas are rapidly becoming famous for elephant, leopard, and buffalo, as well as for a variety of antelope and other game in a pristine, wild setting.

We represent some of Namibia’s finest professional hunters, offering a complete array of options in this famous hunting country.
